Some Tools You May Enjoy

GET SHARP!
It’s no secret that we are always on the lookout for Power House Photoshop Plug-Ins that earn their keep. Nik Sharpener Pro is one of those plug-ins. This software is designed to bring images to their maximum sharpness based on their physical characteristics, (size of the original film, quality of your scan, e.g.), and the intended output, (ink jet, Lambda, printing press, e.g.)

The first image I sharpened using this software was nothing short of spectacular! I wanted to see if I could match the look using Photoshop’s unsharp mask. I couldn’t.

I’ve been using the software for a while now and I’m amazed at what it can do. Every image seems to get just the right amount of sharpening. My images have never looked so good! This software gets our highest recommendation, $$$$$.

X-rite I1 Photo Pro Software.

This software is designed for discerning photographers to manage their RGB workflow from camera to display to print. It also can profile your digital projector. I love making great prints and this software makes the best paper profiles I have ever made. The user interface is extremely easy to use. You just print out a color chart from the software and then let the I1 Spectrophotometer do its magic. It comes with a scanning ruler and backup board that make reading the chart a breeze. It only takes a few minutes to create a profile that will make your printer sing. Nothing compares to this software today!
